Questions
Questions you might be wondering about.
A few answers about therapy, sessions and finding the right support.
I've never done therapy before — what actually happens?
+
Your first session is really just a conversation. Your therapist will want to understand what's going on for you and what you're hoping to get from therapy. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to — you set the pace entirely.
Will anything physical happen in sessions?
+
Absolutely not. Sex therapy is a talking therapy — you will never be asked to undress or do anything sexual during a session. Your therapist may suggest exercises to try at home in your own time, but everything in the session itself is just conversation.
Can I come on my own even if it's a relationship issue?
+
Yes, absolutely. Many of our clients come individually, even when the issue involves a partner. You don't need to come as a couple and your partner doesn't need to be on board for you to start. Some people find their partner joins later once they've seen how helpful it is.
Do I need a GP referral?
+
No. You can book directly through our platform — no referral needed, no waiting list, no forms to fill in before you're ready.
Is this available online?
+
Yes — all of our therapists offer online sessions, so you can access support from wherever feels most comfortable and private for you.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
+
Browse the therapist profiles and go with whoever feels right — your instinct matters here. If you're still not sure, book a free 15-minute call with me and I'll help point you in the right direction.
How many sessions will I need?
+
It really depends on what you're working through. Some people feel significant change in just a handful of sessions, others prefer longer term work. There's no fixed number — your therapist will talk this through with you and work at your pace.
What's the difference between sex therapy and relationship therapy?
+
Honestly, the two overlap so much that it's rarely worth worrying about. Most of what people bring to therapy sits somewhere in between — and our therapists are trained to work across both. Whatever you're dealing with, just book a session and your therapist will help you work out the best way forward together. There are no wrong doors here.
I'm worried about being judged.
+
Our therapists specialise in this area — it's their entire focus. There is genuinely nothing you can say that will surprise them. You will not be judged, shamed or made to feel abnormal. That's exactly why this specialism exists.
What if I don't get on with my therapist?
+
It's important you feel comfortable with the person you're working with. If it doesn't feel right after your first session, just let us know and we'll help you find someone better suited to you — no awkwardness, no questions asked.
